Welcome to BeGenDiv!

The Berlin Center for Genomics in Biodiversity Research (BeGenDiv) is a central hub for scientists of the Berlin Brandenburg Institute of Advanced Biodiversity Research (BBiB) who apply genomics and bioinformatics to answer cutting-edge questions about the ecological and evolutionary processes shaping biodiversity.

Our aims are:
-to advance biodiversity science through research and education in genomics and bioinformatics
-to serve as a forum for the exchange of new knowledge through seminars and our Genomics Symposium
-to serve as a nucleus for collaborative research
-to provide state-of-the-art facilities to all consortium members.

New closing date for application – 30 April 2020:

1 Molecular Biology student assistant position (m/f/d) available at BeGenDiv from 1  June 2020 for at least 6 months. Work load comprises 40 hours per month.
Full description
The duties include laboratory maintenance, cleaning, inventory, restocking and support in ordering materials and to smaller part basic molecular work (PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA extraction and quantification).
Registration at a German university, faculty of biology or similar (degrees of Staatsexamen, Bachelor or Master). Basic skills in the molecular lab and considerable theoretical knowledge in molecular biology, highly organized and highly motivated. English and German language skills are mandatory (B2 or higher).
